Nicki Minaj's elder brother, Jelani Maraj is one step closer to having his day in court. He who his accused of repeatedly abusing a 12 year old sexually will be on trial soon as his case has been sent to a grand jury,
Long Island NY police arrested 37 year old Maraj late last year after a 12 year old girl said he' d been raping her for several months and the last rape occured one day before his arrest.
The case is now in Nassau County Supreme court's sex crimes division.. was sent to a grand jury March 3 and the district Attorney is working with the panel to determine whether or not they should indict him.
During the grand jury hearings, no judge was present and jurors heard from witnesses and review evidence to figure out if they should move forward with an indictment.
Maraj has been charged with felony sexual conduct against a child in the first degree and first degree rape, also a felony. If he's convicted, he faces up to 50 years behind bars.
